Built for those giving and coordinating care for others

Therapy tailored to those caring for others

Being at your best is good for both of you. A random therapist doesn't know much about being responsible for care, but ours do. By video, usually covered by insurance.

We know these by name

You shouldn't have to explain any of these things to your own therapist.

Nobody should pay for a session to teach a stranger what a care conference is, or how difficult it is to sell the house you lived in for years.

Burnout

You can sleep 8 hours and still feel worn out by responsibility

Guilt

Resenting the burden and feeling bad that you resent it

Grieving early

Missing someone who is still in the room with you

Siblings

Everyone has opinions even if they aren't quarterbacking

Role reversal

Becoming the parent to your own parent, which neither of you want

Grief and remembrance

One of life's toughest challenges

Start here

How it works

Do a free intake call with us. Then we find a therapist, check insurance, and book.

A free call

Fifteen minutes on the phone. Tell us what the last few months have looked like, and what you want to be different.

We match and check

Someone licensed in your state who works with caregivers. Before you book anything, we confirm with your insurance what is covered, copay, etc.

Book a time

Sessions are by video chat. We keep a regular time that fits around the caring, flexible to move around if you need.

A woman in her eighties and her adult daughter, cheek to cheek and laughing, on the sofa at home.

Matched to your role, not a directory

A therapist who already knows what you're doing.

Most caregivers who try therapy spend the first month explaining the situation. Managing family dynamics, all the logistical work, how it changes your relationship with the person you're caring for.

We find and train therapists who already know this, and many have or are going through it themselves — caregiving is all they focus on, not just a few of many patients.

All caregivers are not the same though. A daughter managing care from another state and a husband caring for his wife need different things. We find you a therapist that is familiar with your specific situation.

What it costs

We find out what you pay before you book.

Medicare UnitedHealthcare Blue Cross Blue Shield Aetna Cigna Kaiser

Therapy is a covered benefit on most employer and marketplace plans. There is no charge for being matched. We confirm your specific benefits and any copay before your first session, so the cost is never a surprise in a bill six weeks later.

Therapy is half of it

Therapy helps you carry it. We make it lighter.

A lot of what wears caregivers down is not feeling. It's waiting on hold with insurance, rescheduling a doctors' appointment 7 times, finding a backup caregiver when yours cancels at 6am. We can help you with that too.

If you are struggling right now

Setting up ongoing therapy takes a few days. You do not have to wait for us. Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline — any time, free, and you do not have to be suicidal to use it. If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

Framework is not urgent or emergency care, and we are not a crisis service.

Questions people ask

The things nobody says out loud.

Will my family see any of this?

No. What you say in a session is between you and your therapist, and it is confidential. Framework arranges the match, the cover, and the calendar. We do not sit in, and we never see your notes. Nothing from your sessions goes into the family group chat or anywhere near your parent's record.

I do not have the time.

That is the most common reason people put this off, and it is usually the sign it is needed. Sessions are by video, so there is no drive and no waiting room. We book early mornings, evenings, and lunch hours, and we move the slot when your week falls apart, which it will.

Do I have to be a Framework member?

No. You can do this on its own. It does tend to work better alongside the rest of what we handle for your parent, because then the same team that knows the situation is the team arranging your support — and there is less of the situation left to carry.

What if I only need a few sessions?

That is common and completely fine. Some people come for six weeks around a hospital discharge or a move into care. Some stay for a year. You stop when you want to stop, and nobody will chase you.

It is my parent who needs someone to talk to, not me.

Then say that on the call and we will arrange it for them instead. Therapy later in life is well covered and badly used — grief, isolation, a diagnosis that changed everything. Often both of you want it, and neither of you has said so out loud.

Is this therapy, or is it a support group?

Therapy. One licensed clinician, the same one each time, working on what this is doing to you. Support groups are genuinely useful and we will point you to good ones, but they are a different thing and they are not what this is.

Find a therapist who already knows the job.

Fifteen minutes, and no payment details. Start with whichever of these is you.

The consultation is free. If we don't think we can add value, we'll say so.
